I keep running across the trend where people talk about how they “fill up their cup”, so I wanted to do the same thing, but on my blog (obviously).
Essentially, this trend is where people post little things they do to romanticize everyday life.
Here’s my little list:
Cycle classes: I have been enjoying cycle classes for the way they make me feel. It may sound cheesy, but I genuinely mean it when I say that I have never felt better about myself or had more fun working out… ever. I feel so much gratitude to be able to be there and have a healthy body to participate to my fullest potential. Not every class is perfect, but I always leave learning something new or feeling better than when I went into the room.
My coffee in the morning: Almost every morning my roommates are in the kitchen when I make my coffee and it’s my favorite time of day. We’ve all either just woken up or worked out and get the chance to start our day by laughing together. Sometimes in those moments I think about how much I value the time I have living with them in our cute house in our cute beachy, college town.
The Summer I Turned Pretty: Everyone will relate to this (I’m sure). I feel so deeply for Conrad Fisher, and I love that fictional man with everything in me. I am re-reading the series right now to make sure I don’t miss a single detail in the storyline. Watching it with my friends (and then rewatching it multiple times after that) is my favorite thing and I love screaming at the TV. Guys… the peach scene was where it got unbelievably good and it hasn’t stopped peaking since then. Jenny Han is an absolute genius.
SLEEP: I have never slept enough, but now I sleep 7-8 hours a night. Give it a try, I feel great.
Walks: I get a chance to decompress on walks, whether it is with a friend or alone. I try to walk at least 10k steps a day and I genuinely enjoy doing it. What is better than a little walk to clear your head and to reach a goal. I feel so accomplished after hitting my steps.
Journaling: Just do it… seriously. I don’t do it enough and it is like free therapy. Talking yourself through things is the best way to handle hard situations, in my opinion, so journaling is the best way for me to acknowledge what is really going on and how I can overcome whatever it is.
Now that I’m looking at these, they seem very ordinary. Though, not everything is meant to be extravagant. This blog is of course something I take much pride in and have a lot of love for. I will start writing more because I truly believe in it and enjoy writing, no matter how many people read.
Go fill up your cup (whatever it may be with) and watch a Conrad Fisher edit,
XOXO Jaden
