Cape Cod and Some Polka Dots

My thrift trips recently have been going splendidly.

I got everything I need for polish week and found some cute pieces that I wore on my trip to Provincetown (Cape Cod). Polish week is for sororities to perfect all their recruitment stuff, and we have themes to make things fun BUT THESE ARE CONFIDENTIAL SO YOU CAN’T KNOW WHAT I GOT! But stay tuned because you’ll see it soon.

I thrifted some micro black shorts, like the ones Ashtin Earle wears, and I’m slightly nervous to style them because I don’t know how to pull them off. I’m thinking a looser top (since the bottoms are very small) and maybe a cute headband or wavy hair would look cute too to tie it all together. I also think some ballet flats would be cute; I only have red flats, so I want to find another pair since I wear them so much.

Also, I am falling so hard for polka dots, and I am going to use all my power to fight polka dots becoming just a “trend” and hated in a month. I understand they are a fad for some people, performative if you will. But polka dots are timeless. They’ve always been here, so we cannot let them become the next bow; the bows became excessive and were on everything… everything. My formal dress for my sorority was polka dotted, and it was my favorite dress by far. So, guys, don’t let this get out of hand, polka dots cannot die.

I also don’t know how I feel about people wearing the Hunter boots when it’s not raining. The tall rain boots are cute, don’t get me wrong, but I personally am not a fan of people wearing them just to make an outfit cute. It makes no sense. They are a functional piece of clothing that are used for a purpose, not to make an outfit cute. Why are people wearing them when it hasn’t rained in a month. I could 100% change my mind in an hour and decide these are the cutest things and I need them, so take this with a grain of salt. I just cannot get behind wearing them as a fashion statement when they are rain boots… okay, wear them when it rains. I WILL SAY, Quincy Whipple wearing them in her photoshoots, yes, absolutely yes, I love that. She’s also from Maine and it makes sense for the vibe of the photoshoot and with her outfits (normally a mini short and bikini or a similar outfit).

Go find a fabulous outfit to wear (not rain boots or bows) and have a great day.

XOXO, Jaden
